...You're Sure to Fall in Love with Old Cape Cod

Hello Everyone!
So we would first like to apologize (especially to our dear friend the Sassinator) that it has been over two weeks since our last post.  LAME SHAME BLAME GAME (okay now we're just thinking of words that rhyme but nonetheless not cool).  Anywho, we have a lot to catch up on so stay tuned over the next week of at least TWO MORE POSTS (whoa we know, a lot to handle...1) Breathe 2) Sit down 3)Read and enjoy :0)

Okay so the first post, Part I, Vol. I Side A of our series concerns our "Bennifer" name.  We have received a lot of great suggestions and have narrowed it down to our top three:
1) Megomas
2) Wilsorelli
3) MegTom
BONUS BONUS BONUS: Megorelli

Annddd as a bonus one that we just came out with: Megorelli...mmm sounds like a great pasta brand.  Anywho, cast your vote and let us know.  We shall give you our final result in about a week.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way.  Let's get down to business (to defeat the Huns, Mulan anyone, no? Okay nevermind.)  So believe it or not MegTom not only left the apartment but we actually left Allentown to journey north to lovely New England!  We made a pit stop in CT for the evening and then headed up to Meghan's favoritest place in the world: Cape Cod.

So the first thing MegTom did after speeding merrily along 84 and 495, etc. was to take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard to see our awesome really hip, sassy, and chic friend, Sassinator!  We had a lovely time trying to find Martha's wine stores, but we never found the vineyard.  Instead, we took full advantage of the all-day $7 bus pass and toured the island, ate ice cream on the beach, and fresh seafood on the dock.  It was wonderful to see Sassinator as well as our fellow 'Berg alum BH who met us for dinner.  Can't wait to see them again soon!

The photos of our vineyard visit are below.  As a preface for all multimedia in this post, MegTom would like to make you aware of our new family friendly game, entitled SPOT THE FANNY PACK!  Now, if you wish to play, let us know how many times the FANNY PACK appears in our pix.  We will give you the answer next post.

With the FANNY PACK and sailor's bracelets...waiting on the bus to get to the ferry.  We made it JUST in time.
On the ferry to the Vineyard from Woods Hole.  Enjoying the weather.
Consignment shopping: Thomas dressing like a "local."  Just look at that apathy.
At a novelty store with the largest rocking horse known to man.
With the Sassinator in Edgartown.

Trying to keep it together at Vineyard Vines.  Don't worry, we cleaned Thomas us afterwords.

Meg and Sassinator posing with the Gingerbread Houses in Oak Bluffs.
Sassinator determing wind direction and modeling Vineyard fashions.

FANNY PACK chilling at dinner.

While we were sad to say goodbye, MegTom proceeded to have a lovely rest of the weekend up in Brewster.  Fun activities included, eating an entire blueberry pie, watching nearly the entire Season 6 of The Office, heading up to P=Town to catch lunch, gorging on local fishy fare, wine on the beach, two 500-piece puzzles, and enjoying small town New England life.  The rest of our journey is chronicled below...be sure to look for that sexy FANNY PACK.

Homecooked dinner in Brewster.  Mmmm crabcakes.
KIM KIM KIM WE FOUND YOUR DRINK AT THE SIDEWALK CAFE IN PROVINCETOWN!
Happy Hour on the beach...yes flaunt that year-off privilege.

Wake Me Up When September Ends...

Hello Friends and Followers,

Well it is now almost mid-September and we are in denial...in denial that it is indeed September, that we both have a substantial load of medical/graduate school applications to complete by the end of the month, Meghan is in denial that out of the 206 cable channels the YES network is not covered, and Thomas is in denial that I Can't Believe It's Not Butter isn't butter (and in shock that there is a network devoted to the Yankees).  Please if you have any denial issues feel free to share.  It's like online group therapy.

At this point we have settled into our new digs.  We promise to upload apartment photos soon, we just need to add a few before we are ready...  Next post for sure!

As you might note by our changed blog photo, we celebrated our first day of NO school in style.  At approximately 11:00 AM on August 30th MegTom descended upon Muhlenberg College's front lawn and had a picnic until about 4:30 PM.  Activities included reading, fresh baked cookie munching, a lunch provided by the Sodexo (a.k.a. nabbed spoils from orientation weekend), music blasting using Thomas' workout playlist (i gots the ILLEST tunes, okrr?), napping, foot massages, and laughing at the freshmen coming out of Trumbower Science Building.  Yes, yes MegTom has been there done that, and now is allowed to sit back and watch with amusement.  For those of you who visited our campsite, we very much appreciated your company and we missed the rest of you!

So, what does MegTom have planned at this point?  Well first of all, we are now back to compulsive Bravo TV watching (which is always productive), competitively working out at the gym, and candlelight dinners.  (By the way Bravo's Thintervention is on at 10 PM tonight, new episode.)  The second would be those darn apps...mmmhmm yep we're working on those *gag.*  Annnd because we can, we are heading up to Cape Cod for the next few days to veg out and see some fellow 'Berg alumni!

But before we say so long, we have a predicament that we could use some help with. MegTom is trying to decide on the perfect "Bennifer" name.  Some options/suggestions from others include MegTom, Tomgan, Wilsorelli, etc.  If you would like to cast a vote, add a new one to the mix, etc. we would greatly appreciate the feedback! Voting will end at 8:30 Eastern/9:30 Central PM on some unknown date in the future.

Alright we're off to packing/I mean of course get a crack-a-lackin' on those apps.  Our next post involves our new favorite family game, spot the fanny pack.  Until then much love from Allentown.

And so it begins: Senior Year 2.0!

Greetings friends, family, and hopefully future followers.  Welcome to the MegTom blog documentary.  We apologize that we have been so late in starting this blog so before we continue, it is probably best to share with you what our lives have been like for the past three months.  In the spirit of organization, we'll break it down by month:

May 2010: WE GRADUATED!  So, you must be dying to know, what MegTom did immediately upon receiving their dual degrees in Neuroscience and Music.  Well, first we ate, then we napped, and then we proceeded to pillage the campus dumpsters from 7 PM until 11PM.  All in all we raked in three full carloads of furniture, cleaning supplies, cutlery, flatware, and food all while chanting "PILLAGE THE VILLAGE!"  Hey, when you are a student it's fine, but when you graduate, you are just po'.

June & July 2010: Thanks to the kindness of Muhlenberg's Office of Residential Services, we were able to avoid the rush of moving out immediately after graduation and received an extension for living for a few more days in Robertson.  For those of you who are familiar with our little Wheat Family, it was quite sad to dismantle the Wheat Compound and pack away the quote walls and shared items.  A very final reminder that our time at Muhlenberg has come to an end.  With that said, Thomas was a genius and scored FREE RENT for the summer

It was quite a coup, let me tell you. Thomas only had to work his eyelash-batting magic to score the deal with ORS. Or rather, he was on the Muhlenberg Community Garden Governance Committee and was put in charge of deciding who got to live in the garden house over the summer. Pick the story you find preferable.

So anyway, back to the garden. Sweet gig overall. In exchange for living in the Garden House from May 27 - August 20 for free, MegTom and two other students were responsible for making sure that the garden didn't turn into a big flop over the summer. I don't think it's actually possible to either explain or describe what the summer was like so I'm going to write a list of topics you can ask us to elaborate upon when we get together for drinks: a groundhog family named Wallace and Gromit, weeds, crab apples, 10+ foot ceilings, "Clarissa Explains It All"-esque window arrangement, weeds, 95+ Fahrenheit humidity, medical school applications, croquet, a closet located on stairway landing, cool early-morning dew, Garden Work Days, the obesity epidemic that just hit the Allentown rodent community this past summer, and ... oh right, weeds.

This summer has flown by stupid fast.

And this is a stupid long post...we'll be sure to throw some photos and of course give you our August update later.  As for now, we are about to devour a picnic lunch on the front lawn of Muhlenberg College.  This meal was brought to you by the excesses of Orientation 2010 weekend...pulled pork, rice, buns, cookies (made by yours truly and Meg's Mommy), etc.  The only thing we forgot...EtOH.  Damn, it's not senior week anymore.
